What to do when you feel down or unmotivated?
mompreneur market
In today’s world, we see the glorious moments of everyone else’s life. We see their success, their parties, family get-togethers, magazine features, luxurious fashion brands, over the moon vacations and so on … We get into strangers’ lives and houses through Insta stories, Snapchat, Facebook and Youtube. Which makes us wonder, do these people ever feel down sometimes?

The answer is Yes, unless they are from planet “Permanently Happy” which hasn't been discovered yet! We are all humans and we all go through periods of time which involves negative emotions, self-talk, tears, depression and lowest of lows.

Two weeks ago, I had one of those moments. We were super busy at work for a product launch which could have been better, one of the other projects got cancelled and they made an impact on achieving my targets for the month. Well, I have a thick skin when it comes to business challenges after 7 years of being an entrepreneur and I know that when you are jumping to the next level, there are many challenges that you need to overcome, otherwise you’ll be always where you are.

But I totally lost it when Ryan fell off scooter and he got two big wounds on his face. I couldn’t handle that and I went through many negative emotions which had an effect on my sleep and functionality. Thousands of questions came to my mind, what if the stone had hit his eye? What if there will be a big scar on his face? What if .. What if .. What if … and then I started feeling guilty and led to a downward spiral.

I have two reasons for sharing this with you.

Firstly, for those of you who follow me on social media, you did Not see any of those emotions, tears, guilt and frustrations. You saw me on stage, with our mompreneurs, on Facebook live, at events with amazing people. Why? Social media to me is not a place to spread negativity. I don’t want you to check my story and see Ryan’s wounds which would make you feel bad as well. I believe social media is to inspire, to motivate, to uplift people, not bring their energy down.

I want you to know that all the other people that you see on social media, go through tough times in their lives, we all do. I easily share all of my challenges and tough times with others whenever I get a chance, let’s not put masks on our faces and let’s show our vulnerability to others. It makes us more human and it motivates other people’s to do the same as well.

Secondly, I was very aware of my emotions and what I was going through. As a believer, I knew that there was a reason for all of these things happening in my life. And I decided that that reason is for me to share how I managed to get out of those negative moments of my life which might help someone and hence the reason for this article…

The first thing I personally do whenever I am not at my best, is to accept all of those emotions instead of fighting them. We sometimes wake up and we are not in a good mood, accept it, don’t fight it. Don’t question yourself and your feelings. Accept that you are a Human and you are entitled to all of those emotions (as long as you don’t hurt someone else). You are entitled to feel sad, depressed, down, frustrated and not in a good mood. Who said that we should always feel uplifted and happy? Then why do all the other emotions even exist? How can we experience true happiness if we haven’t experienced all of the “negative” emotions? All those emotions make you who you are. Accept them. Acknowledge them and hear them. They are not there to hurt you, they are just a sign to tell you that something is not working. See them as an alert rather than a threat..

I see a lot of people going through tough times questioning their feelings. Why do I feel down? Why am I not grateful? Why do I feel this way? Why can’t I be happy? What’s wrong with me?

Noting is wrong with you my loves, absolutely nothing. If you are going through tough times, the first step is to accept the situation and all of your feelings. Just tell yourself that it’s OK to feel down. I hear you … Give 100% attention to love yourself, care for yourself and accept every aspect of your being, even the parts which are not pretty and glamorous. Accept yourself as you are all the time.

This is a simple step, but you will feel an immediate shift in your energy level when you stop questioning yourself and your feelings. You feel that 100KG baggage is removed from your shoulders. As soon as you stop blaming yourself, questioning yourself and your life, you will open up a space in your life which leads to finding creative solutions. Allow that space to enter your life by focusing on the solution rather than the problem.

After that, do one thing that brings your energy level higher. Exercise is my magic pill. No matter how low I feel, after a body combat class, I feel much better and I feel I’m getting my power back. Go for a walk, for a jog, dance … Do anything that might help you … watch a funny video… Every small step counts.

No matter what you are going through in life, I promise you that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Keep going… The only way out is through. Believe in yourself and accept yourself and all of your emotions.

The dirty, murky, muddy waters of ponds often yield the most beautiful Lotus flowers. Do not let the environment around you effect the beauty that you have. Be a Lotus - perfect regardless of the conditions around her.

I want nothing but a life full of success and happiness for you. This articles brought tears to my eyes, it’s an emotional one, hope I managed to talk to your heart from my heart.

As always, I will come live on Facebook on Thursday, October 5th at 3 pm GST/UAE to talk more about this topic and to answer your questions. Follow me on Facebook and I will see you live soon!
