6 Time Management Strategies to achieve more in your day
One of the questions that I get asked the most is “How do you manage your time?”. As a mother and entrepreneur, I have many responsibilities during the day and I’d like to share some of the techniques that I use in this article. I hope they will help you to achieve more and be in control of your time.

1) Identify your top 3 activities
Before even getting into time management, I want you to identify the things that matter the most to you. What are the important responsibilities that you have each day? Your values can help you to identify your main responsibilities. There are 3 things that I need to have in my schedule every single day which are my top 3 values as well: Family time, Growth and Wellbeing or exercise.

2) Prioritize
Go through your weekly schedule and identify the task that are not in your top 3 activities and eliminate them or prioritize them after your main activities. You can only do those if you have spare time on your hand, but don’t do them first. You will feel fulfilled by getting to important tasks first. Don’t get trapped in being “busy” all the time. Prioritize results over actions.

3) Plan
After identifying your main activities, the next step is to plan them ahead of time. Schedule everything in your calendar one week in advance to have a clear plan in front of you. Do not change the plan unless there is an emergency. List all of your tasks one night before and know the outcomes you require from each day.

4) Focus
I am personally still working on this step. I am totally aware of the benefits of focusing on one task at a time instead of multi-tasking. We work on multiple projects at a time and my goal is to work on one event or task for at least 4 hours before switching to another. The ultimate goal is to work on one task per day to pay full attention on one project at a time. Switch off your Whatsapp notifications, emails and all other distractions when you are working on your main projects as well as your personal tasks such as family time.

5) Say No, kindly and lovingly
It’s Ok to say No, and to not do everything that comes your way if it’s not in line with your vision. Remember that you are automatically saying No to your own goals for every Yes that is not in line with your vision. You can do it nicely, and with confidence.

6) Reflect
Sometimes you need to slow down to speed up. This might seem contradictory but it’s very important to take moments of reflection to ensure that you are on the right track. Sometimes we climb up a ladder and when we get to the top, we realize that it was the wrong ladder. Take time to look back, reflect and ensure that you are on the right path.

We all have 24 hours in our day, but some people achieve a lot more in their 24 hour than others. It is important to be aware of the things that are the most important to us and our loved ones. Take it one step at a time and remember that change happens with awareness. Be aware of the actions that don’t serve you and eliminate them from your life.

I am also very excited to tell you about my upcoming workshop “You Can Have it All” on November 28th and 29th about Time Management, Energy Optimization and Goal Setting. You can read all about it here:
