Ask Better Questions to Get Better Results

Are you aware of the questions that you ask yourself? Are they empowering or disempowering? Are they motivating you or bring you down? You might not know the answer right now, so I want you to be aware of the questions you ask yourself because they are the foundation of the result you get in life. If you are not happy with the results, you need to ask better questions.

 Let’s dig deeper … what do you think is more important than any strategy in life. The questions that you ask yourself come in a form of a self-talk and most of the time, we ask them unconsciously, meaning that we don’t even realize that they exist. And yet, they directly affect the results we get in life. 

So are the questions that you ask yourself anything similar to these? 

– Why don’t I ever get it right?
– How come these things always happen to me?
– Why can’t I ever finish something that I start?
– Why am I so clumsy? 
– Why can’t I focus? 
– Why can’t I lose weight? 
– Why am I such a failure?  

If the questions you ask yourself, are anything similar to the questions above, don’t expect extraordinary results. 

This is how it works: our mind is like a computer and it will always look to find answers to the questions we ask. Our mind does not like open loops and will do its best to find answers to our questions. 

When you ask yourself, “Why am I a failure?” Your mind will look for answers for your. Your mind wants to serve you, wants to make you happy and it will find perfect answers for your questions, something along the lines of: “Yes, you are a failure… because your business did not succeed… you suck at parenting, you are a horrible wife and you have zero friends!” Boom… Here is your answer your majesty! What’s the next question!? 
Your mind will look for answers to prove you right and it will act in a way to match the results to those answers. 

“Why am I a failure?” That’s a low value and disempowering question. Let’s flip it and ask a more empowering question, something like: “How can I become more successful in life?” Now your mind will come up with completely different answers: “You can become more successful by investing in yourself and educating yourself and your business. You can become more successful by spending uninterrupted quality time with your children. You can become more successful by surrounding yourself with powerful and inspirational people.”

Aren’t these answers more empowering? Don’t they feel like they are putting you on the right track and have positive effect on your life by suggesting positive actions? They certainly improve the quality of your life.

 Let’s try another question. When you ask yourself, “Why am I fat?” Your mind will do its best to come up with answers to prove you right. Remember that your mind does not know the difference between negative and positive at this point and its only job is to make you happy and to prove you right! The answers will be something like: “Well, it’s in your genes, everyone in your family is fat! Or, your body type is like this, you gain weight even when you drink water!” 

What if you ask yourself “How can I become healthier?” instead? The answer will be “Exercise every day, eat healthier, don’t eat after 7:30 pm, etc.” 

And the last example, when you ask yourself “Why do I get angry so quickly?” your obedient mind will look for answers such as “Well, look at your life! Who wouldn’t get angry in such chaos!” or “You get angry because of your non-understanding husband, naughty kids, demanding boss, etc.”

Let’s now replace that question with, “How can I become more patient?” Oh boy, you’ll get whole different lot of answers with this question! You are tackling the solution this time instead of highlighting the problem. Your mind will come up with answers such as: Meditation, Pause 10 seconds before answering, etc. 

I think you get the point, and this applies to every single question that we ask ourselves. As the first step, I want you to become aware of the questions that you ask yourself. The very simple principle of “Garbage in, Garbage Out” applies perfectly here! Quality questions create a Quality Life. 

Believe me that your life will change dramatically when you start asking yourself high quality and empowering questions. Your mind will find the answers for you. You will become more resourceful and things will start happening for you. The universe is here to find the best possible option for you, be very careful of what you ask and the demand that you are putting out there.

Your Energy Determines Your Outcome

Today I want to talk to you about one of my most favorite topics: Energy. We are all very aware of our time during the day. There is a clock in almost every single room, we all wear a watch and the first thing you see on your phone is always the Time. What if I tell you that your Energy is more important than Time, that your performance and productivity during the day, always depends 100% on your level of energy. How often do we really check our energy level during the day? I believe that we need to constantly check our energy, exactly the same way we track our time.
 You might ask “Why”? What’s a big deal about energy? There is a saying that the person with the highest energy always wins. I also absolutely love this quote by Albert Einstein: 

As precious as our Energy is, we waste it easily. We don’t invest in our energy consciously and we don’t really monitor it during the day.

Imagine that you have two blocks of energy per hour and you can either fill it up with more energy or waste it depending on “Your” choices. The single most important step to create your dream life

We often know the things that bother us, the list of things we don’t like, and it is easy to blame our spouse, employee, employer, and others for not living the life we want to. There are always difficult people in our lives, external factors that are easy to blame in any situation.
I would like you to look at the matter from a different point of view. Think for a moment, what is it EXACTLY that you want? Have you ever thought of your ideal life? Ideal day? Ideal job? What kind of impact do you want to have on this world? What kind of a person do you want to attract into your life?


The truth of the matter is that a lot of the time we don’t know what we want. We don’t have a crystal clear definition of our ideal day. Our mind is designed to protect us. It is designed to evaluate the situation and make the safest decision – take the least dangerous route, and so a lot of the time, it just stops us from dreaming big.

It’s very difficult to reach a destination without knowing where we are going. Vague and fuzzy goals do not get us anywhere. At my company, Mompreneurs Middle East. We teach entrepreneurship to mom entrepreneurs and I often get asked whether business plans are actually important or not. They take a lot of time to create and often, we don’t end up following the plan exactly and the financial projections are nothing but a guess.
A business plan is important not just for the end result, but the thought process that goes into writing it. It makes us sit down and consider all the options for creating that business. The same process needs to be done for our own lives, you need to create a “Life Plan”.


One of the reasons we write Resolutions every year is to be clear about our goals. This is another exercise that some people ignore because they believe that resolutions do not get achieved. The reason we don’t achieve our resolutions is a different topic that I promise to write more about, but in a nutshell, it is because we do not write SMART goals and we haven’t developed a “No Matter What” mindset. Resolutions Do work when we do them properly and the first step is to be clear about them, to have that Clarity.

How to add more time and efficiency to your day

If you often get that nagging feeling that there aren’t enough hours in a day, don’t worry, you are not alone. Everyone feels that way from one time to another. It sometimes feels like no matter how fast you run, how much you try, you just can’t get everything done that you need to do. And all those apps and gadgets that are supposed to save the day? We believe we readily incorporate technology into our lives to help us achieve more and make our life easier, but is that really what happens? Does that technology help us master our To-Do list, or does it become just one more burden to sling over our shoulders as we wade knee-deep (against the current) through the river of time?
So there must be a better way right? There must be some way to become more efficient in handling our day-to-day tasks. There must be some way to take back control.
Well, I’ve been grappling with this for quite some time, and I’ve come up with a couple some things that work for me. And I would like to share them with you…
Here are 3 steps you can take right now to add more time and efficiency to your day. 

 1. Be mindful of the energy you bring to this world

Energy is our main resource in life. We can achieve a lot more in 1 hour if we are in the right state and with the right energy than when we feel down and drained. The first step is to be mindful of your energy at all times. Think of it the same way you think of the little fuel indicator on your car’s dashboard. Do you feel exhausted, tired, unfocused and unmotivated? The good news is that unlike Time that is limited to 24 hours in a day, our energy can expand; and we have full control over this. When your energy expands, it feels like you have a lot more time in your day.
We have 4 interconnected energy sources in our life. You need to be mindful of each of them and practice on a daily basis to keep your energy high. Remember that motivation is like taking shower, you can’t take a shower once and expect to be clean for the rest of your life! It’s a daily practice and commitment to stay at your highest state.
Our 4 sources of energy are: Physical, Social, Mental and Spiritual. I promise to write a full blog post on how to increase your energy. For now, just be mindful of events, activities, conversations that raise your energy and those that drain your energy. Remember that the first step toward change is Awareness.
This illustration shows you how your time can expand when you are at a higher energy level. You feel you achieve a lot more when you are at your best state during the day and your performance increases.

You don’t have to be Busy all the time in order to achieve more in your day. That is an illusion. Add recovery time and free time to reflect on what you have finished and your upcoming tasks. Recover and renew your energy to achieve maximum efficiency in your day.

 2. Make the most of your Time
Unlike energy, our time is limited; we all have only 24 hours in our day. It is important to use our time efficiently during the day. I personally love Stephen Covey’s Time Management Matrix from his book: “7 habits of highly effective people” which is on my recommended reads list.
Stephen Covey divides all of our daily tasks into 4 quadrants illustrated in the table below:  

Most people spend their time dealing with Urgent activities whether they are important or not. We are constantly being bombarded with text messages, emails, telephone, notifications and more. It’s very common to suffer from FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) when we don’t check our social media channels for a couple of hours, thinking that something important is happening which we are going to miss out. Life has become like an endless treadmill and people are just running faster and faster on it to catch-up with on-going tasks and demands.
I invite you to write all of your activities for the next 10 days in each of the quadrants and see what percentage of your time is spent dealing with tasks that are not important and do not get you closer to your goals.
 3. Learn how to set goals correctly
The last skill to learn in order to achieve more in your day is the art of Goal Setting
Goal setting is a learnable skill. There are a few tips that you can use to make sure that your goal becomes a reality:
Make sure that your goals are SMART – Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Timely.See the end result first and then plan it backward. E.g. if the goal takes 6 months to complete, define your completion date, and then specify your monthly milestones and daily tasks.Write “When” and “Where” you will work on your goal every day. If you don’t schedule it, it’s less likely that it will happenSay “No” and be proud of it – don’t dilute the effort you are putting on your goal by taking on tasks that are not in line with that goalVisualize your end result for a couple of minutes every day.Be persistent, do not stop until you are proud.Celebrate when the task is finished.Once you start following the steps above, being mindful of your energy, how you use your time, and work towards your goals, you will see an immediate result.
You will start to feel like your days become less hectic, you start to achieve more and you will feel more accomplished at the end of each day. By mastering these steps, you will be well on your way to achieving peak performance.
